Shipping is a flat rate plus a per-pound fee that's based on the weight of your products. The price you see at checkout is exactly what you'll be charged. No surprises, no adjustments after the fact. As you add items to your cart, you'll see your shipping cost update in real time.

Example: Let's say you order a 1/2 gallon of milk, 1 dozen eggs, and 5lb ground beef. That weighs 10.5lb. If you live in PA, you're in our 1 Day Zone and your shipping rate is $20 + $0.85/lb. So your shipping cost would be $20 + (10.5 x 0.85) = $28.93.

Who delivers my order?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: UPS picks up from the farm and delivers to your door.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY - PA/MD/VA/DC HUB: One of our own drivers delivers your order in person, straight from the farm right to your door.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY - LOS ANGELES HUB: Your order is shipped on a pallet to Los Angeles. Then one of our drivers delivers it right to your door.

How is shipping cost calculated?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: Shipping is a flat rate plus a per-pound fee based on the weight of your products. As you add items to your cart, your shipping cost updates in real time. The total you see at checkout is exactly what you'll be charged. No surprises, no adjustments after the fact.

For example, let's say you order a 1/2 gallon of milk, 1 dozen eggs, and 5lb ground beef. That weighs 10.5lb. If you live in PA, you're in our 1 Day Zone and your shipping rate is $20 + $0.85/lb. So your shipping cost would be $20 + (10.5 x 0.85) = $28.93.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY: There's a flat fee for delivery. In PA, MD, VA, and DC, there's a $20 delivery fee (with free delivery on orders over $200). In Los Angeles, there's a $90 delivery fee (it's gotta go so far!).

When will my order ship or arrive?

FOR UPS SHIPPING: Order by Friday at 7:00 am Eastern for delivery the following week.

If you're in a 1- or 2-day zone, expect delivery Tuesday, Wednesday. or Thursday. 3-day zones typically arrive Thursday or Friday (barring UPS delays). 

Because we bottle and prepare dairy fresh to order and sometimes wait to consolidate items into one box, tracking updates may not appear until Monday or Tuesday evening. If you need your order by a specific date for travel or an event, let us know in the comments at checkout and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY IN PA/MD/VA/DE: Order at least one week ahead of your delivery date. We can't give an exact time window, so please make sure someone's home to bring the package inside. Or, leave a cooler with ice out.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY IN LOS ANGELES: Order at least two weeks ahead of your delivery date. We can't give an exact time window, so please make sure someone's home to bring the package inside. Or, leave a cooler with ice out.

*Once you sign up or log in, your next order deadline and delivery date will always show at the top of every page.

Can I get a tracking number?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: Yes! You'll get a text from Worldwide shipping (a lot of people think it's spam - it's not). If you'd like tracking updates via email, the most reliable way is to sign up for free at UPS MyChoice using the same email you use for your BVP account. You'll get step-by-step delivery notifications.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER HOME DELIVERY: Sorry, we don't offer tracking. But, we can pretty much guarantee delivery will be made between 10am and 8pm on your delivery day.

Can I give special delivery instructions?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: Yes, through UPS MyChoice. It's the only way we can guarantee the driver sees your request. Ask them to leave your package in a garage, shed, side door, or outdoor cooler. This is especially helpful if you're worried about heat, weather, or package theft. You can even reroute a package to a nearby address, though we don't recommend it for orders that might spoil in transit.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER HOME DELIVERY: Yes! Simply leave a comment on your order at checkout. You can note if someone will be home or not, or if there's a special place we should leave your order.

How do you package your orders?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: Cardboard box with insulation, plenty of ice packs, bubble wrap, and foam cushioning. Ice amounts are adjusted for the weather and shipping duration.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY: Cardboard box with items bagged and packed in loose ice. It's enough to keep everything cool for a few hours.

What are the ice packs made of, and how do I dispose of them?

They're a non-toxic, food-safe, non-liquid material (no silica or harmful chemicals). Since they're not liquid, you can toss them in the trash. Or reuse them yourself or pass them along to friends and neighbors. Soup kitchens or food pantries might be interested in them, too.

What if I'm not home when my order arrives?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: Your food is packed in an insulated box with ice packs to stay fresh even if you're out. Just unpack it as soon as you can, definitely the same day it arrives.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY: Leave gate codes or other special instructions in the comments section of your order. Please have someone home to bring the box inside (we can't guarantee an exact arrival time). 

*If you won't be home for 1+ hours after delivery, we recommend leaving a cooler with ice out. Our drivers can put your order inside for you.

What about holidays and bad weather?

FOR MAIL SHIPPING: UPS doesn't ship on most U.S. holidays and may hold packages during severe weather to prevent spoilage. If a holiday or storm affects your delivery week, we may push your shipment to the following week. We'll always let you know by email if anything changes.

FOR PRIVATE DRIVER DELIVERY: We'll let you know about any holiday changes in advance. And, in the case of crazy weather, we'll let you know as soon as we can.
